"You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep rereading the last one."

It's healthy to reflect on our past, but when we attempt to live there, and re-live it we get suck. Holding onto something or someone creates a barrier in our lives to moving forward.
Life is a constant, changing experience. We will have many bad things happen to us over the course of our lives, but we will also have many good ones. From every bad and good experience, especially the negative ones, we should certainly look back on them and reflect and learn a lesson from it. We need to heal but also move on. It's staying in that past moment and not leaving, not healing, not forgiving that is preventing us from growing and with that, from being happy.
It has been said that living in the past causes depression, and also living too much in the future causes anxiety. The goal we should all have is to live in the present as much a possible.
I've talked to so many people who want to make a change in their lives, to move on to something new, but they're waiting for a big event, or big break to happen to make that change to move on. The fact is, that EVERY DAY is a new opportunity to create new goals and dreams. You just have to wake up one day and decide to do it.
