"Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want to impress people they don't like."
-Will Rogers
This week in our Quotes to Live By episode, I came across this quote from the actor Will Rogers. It covers the topic of consumption and why do we really spend in the first place. Do we purchase things and spend our money because we truly love the thing we are buying? Or are we just doing it to impress people and to satisfy the unrealistic need to have the latest and greatest of things? My point in the discussion of the video is to just take a moment before buying things and ask yourself these questions. Half the time we buy just to buy, and it isn't satisfying a need or really making us happy.
